about
Destinie Wood is a licensed clinical social worker with more than ten years of experience, specializing in anxiety, depression, family relationships and military-specific challenges. She obtained post-graduate certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and is also trained in trauma-informed care, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, infant mental health, sex therapy, and couples counseling. Destinie has experience working with individuals, couples and families, from early childhood into late adulthood. She utilizes a person-centered approach because she understands that you are the expert of your life and should remain in control throughout the course of therapy.
In her free time, Destinie enjoys journaling, weight-lifting, cooking, frequenting the beach and traveling to mountainous hiking destinations. She lives in Florida with her five year-old daughter.

Successful counseling entails forming trust with your therapist. Destinie understands that not every person is a good fit for every therapist. That is why she encourages you to begin with a complimentary discovery call before scheduling and financially investing in your first counseling session. During this call, you will get to know Destinie better, describe what led you to seeking counseling services and discuss the long-term changes that you would like to make while working together.
After getting to know her better, you will be able to schedule counseling sessions based on your personal needs (i.e. weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). Through this process, you will partner with Destinie to set and achieve goals, as well as gain the tools needed to maintain lasting changes that you have worked to obtain.

Supervision services will be avabile soon for Registered Clinical Social Worker Interns in the state of Florida.
Supervision is the relationship between qualified supervisor and intern that promotes the development of responsibility, skills, knowledge, attitudes and adherence to ethical, legal and regulatory standards in the practice of clinical social work, marriage and family therapy and mental health counseling. Supervision is face-to-face contact between an intern and a supervisor during which the intern apprises the supervisor of the diagnosis and treatment of each client, client cases are discussed, the supervisor provides the intern with oversight and guidance in diagnosing, treating and dealing with clients, and the supervisor evaluates the intern’s performance.
